There is hope for healing and transformation.
Welcome to Long Island Hope Counseling Services and thank you for visiting!
I am a national board certified mental health counselor committed to helping individuals, couples, and families learn how to build healthier relationships with themselves, others, and the world.
I completed my graduate studies in mental health counseling at Alliance University (Nyack College) and received my PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision at Regent University. My clinical experience entails being a counselor-in-training at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Life Recovery Center, Dr. Soo-Il Lee's Private Practice, and the Pastoral Counseling Center of Flushing. I completed my internship and residency at Redeemer Counseling Services, where I received foundational training on integrating psychology and theology.
As a psychodynamic therapist, my work focuses on addressing the root pathology for behavioral transformation. My approach is centered around hearing my clients' stories and taking a collaborative approach to help them reach their goals. As a trauma specialist certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), I integrate principles from a variety of approaches, such as IFS (Internal Family Systems) and narrative therapy, to best meet clients' different needs. For those seeking couples counseling, I use RT (Restoration Therapy) and principles from the Gottman Method to promote healing, connection, and healthy communication.
In addition to being a clinician, I enjoy teaching and supervising counselors-in-training as an adjunct professor in the Master's Program for Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University.
Whether you would like to address impoverished mood, develop healthier relationships, or improve your quality of life, I invite you to schedule a free 15 minute consultation by contacting me at contact@lihcs.com.
